Blake Phillips, M.D.

Dr. Phillips’ education and interest in neurologic science began at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. After graduating with a degree in Biochemistry, he began research in St. Judes’ neurodevelopmental biology lab. Dr. Phillips then received his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, after which he completed an internship in general surgery. It is at the Unviersity of Arkansas where he continued his neurosurgical training gaining expertise in cranial and spine surgery.


Dr. Phillips utilizes some of the most advanced technology available to help treat complex cranial and spine disorders. He brought O-arm technology to Baptist Health Medical Center which allows computer assisted spine surgery associated with lower complication rates, fewer revision operations for malpositioned hardware and overall improved patient satisfaction. In addition, Dr. Phillips has an interest in minimally invasive spine surgery (MIS) and spine deformity correction.


He continues to be active in medical education with a number of recent peer reviewed publications, posters, and conference speaking engagements. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Southern Neurosurgical Society, North American Spine Society, American Medical Association, Arkansas Medical Association and the Pulaski County Medical Society. He has recently been recognized in Who’s Who for professionals.
