David Connor, Jr., D.O.

Dr. Connor attended The University of Pittsburgh’s Honors College and received his Bachelor’s degree in

Biology, graduating Magna cum Laude.  Following his matriculation at the Lake Erie College of

Osteopathic Medicine in 2003, Dr. Connor focused his research interest upon the neuroendocrine

connections within the human hypothalamus under the mentorship of Dr. Bertelan Dudas.  In 2007, he

graduated first in his class, followed by a successful match into the Neurosurgical residency program at

the Louisiana State University in Shreveport, chaired by Dr. Anil Nanda.

 

During residency, Dr. Connor conducted clinical and laboratory research in the further study of

mechanisms of traumatic brain injury, post-subarachnoid hemorrhage vasospasm, glioblastoma

diagnosis and treatment and the minimally-invasive treatment of spinal disorders, with over 15 of his

works published in peer-reviewed journals.  He has received multiple awards for research at annual

meetings of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, Southern Neurosurgical Society and

Louisiana Neurosurgical Society.

 

Dr. Connor specializes in the minimally-invasive treatment of disorders of the spine, brain and periphera

nerves, including brain and spine tumors, spinal stenosis, disc disorders, spinal deformity, trigeminal

neuralgia, carpal tunnel syndrome, seizure disorders and traumatic fractures, to name a few.

 

Dr. Connor demonstrates a strong commitment to the profession of neurosurgery, serving on multiple

committees within its parent organizations, including selection as the Council of State Neurosurgical

Society’s socioeconomic fellow for the southwest quadrant for 2012-13 and appointment to the Young

Neurosurgeon’s Committee, beginning in 2013.  Dr. Connor is a member of American Association of

Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurologic Surgeons, and the Arkansas Medical Society.

Dr. Connor’s nurse, Summer, plays an essential role in both the clinic and the hospital. She is available
